Absence Makes The Heart Grow Fonder?

It's been a while since I last updated my blog. As I told you guys before, I really have a hard time keeping a blog of any sort since I tend to lose interest immediately. I'm so sorry for not updating you guys. A lot has happened since I last blogged here.

Just a quick recap of all the things that have happened between then and now.. I'm now a sophomore BS Psychology student, yes, you heard me right! I was able pass my first year of college and I must say that I did pretty well. If last year's first sem was terrible, I have to say that this year's 1st sem is about 10 times more horrible. We practically have a long exam every week! But aside from being stressed by acads, I have to say that this year (well.. this sem) is full of surprises. For one I'm now an officer of my org (Celadon) despite the fact that I wasn't as active as I would have liked last year. Now that I'm an officer, I have this drive to show everyone that they didn't make a huge mistake and so you'll probably see me in more org activities.

Last sem, I took up arnis for my P.E.. I guess I did pretty well since I was able to win 3rd place in my division. I guess my instructor also thought that I showed potential since he gave me a recommendation letter to join the varsity! :D In my whole life, I never would have thought that I'll be joining a varsity, much less when I'm in college. I started training last week and my gosh.. varsity training is no joke. My muscles were screaming by the time we finished training but you know what? Despite that I was tired because training is from 4:30-7:30, when I get home, I always seem to have so much energy left. I remember that after my first training session I was up until 12 something in the morning :))

2nd year.. after the 1st year in college, some people shift courses. I have one blockmate, her name's Jian. She shifted out of our course because maybe she had 2nd thoughts about pursuing med and didn't want to waste her time with the heavy science courses which our course entails. Now, if someone left, someone should come in right? Just to maintain the balance of everything. My blockmates and I now have 5 new members added to our block. They are Mela Bucoy, DanGaurano, Becca Cortez, Reg Guillermo and Gab Bustamante! :) Hello new blockmates! :D

I haven't been able to talk to Mela much so I can't say much about her only that she looks like a cool person and someone whom you can easily befriend. Also, from what I've heard from Merce, she's also a really good dancer :D

Dan.. hmm.. what can I say about him? Well.. he's a huge flirt and he can be soooooo random and weird at times ( he tells me that I should blame it on the alcohol.. uh huh... anyway.. :P) In the short time that I've met him I think we've become pretty good friends. He's fun to talk to and he offers insights which I sometimes would never have thought of. I guess that his being too much of an alcohol lover and crammer are the things which I don't like about him :(

Becca.. what can I say? She's a really cool girl :) She's funny and I dunno, I think that she's easy to talk to :) I have a feeling that given enough time to talk to her, we could be close friends :)

Reg... Reg can be sarcastic and funny at the same time. I don't know exactly how to describe it but he makes that possible :)) I remember him being my groupmate in one of Gen Psych class activities and that's how I learned that he can be sarcastic and funny at the same time :))

Gab.. Gab is sooo funny especially when it comes to Merce. Dana and I still think that both Merce and Gab have a reaction formation thing for one another... naaahhh... we're just kidding :)) If that were true, that would be an epic story :))

Some of the new friends I've met are:

Marvs Reyes: Marvs is just so adorable :) He reminds me of a little kid at times. He looks like a college freshman or sophomore when in truth he's a senior. He never fails to give me a hug when I see him :) He's one of my closest friends in my org.

Marky Dizon: I met this weirdo of a person during my summer class. I remember that the first time I saw him I thought that he had looks but he needs to lighten up a bit :)) He has this aura which kind of says "Don't talk to me else you'll get hurt" but after you've known him I swear your view of him will change forever. He's the guy who can make you laugh because of his laughter and I dunno.. he really can just make you laugh.. I guess that's one of the reasons why we're close. We kind of understand each other ( I don't want to say that we're like each other because I'm not as weird as he is -_- xDD ) This guy is definitely my closest guy friend in college. Btw, he just won gold in his taekwondo match :D Congratulations to him :)

Mark Dychauco: My orgmate who resembles Shaggy when he doesn't shave :)) He's really loud and hyper. I don't think I've ever seen him quiet unless he's sleeping on the couch in the org room. He has this habit of suddenly tickling you when you least expect it and that's one of the reasons why I have to stay alert when I'm in the org room :))

Paco Scott: He's my Fil-Am friend who can speak straight Tagalog. I also met him during my summer class. He's a really funny guy and you don't have to strain yourself to start a conversation with him. He usually talks more and that's saying something because I talk a lot at times :P Compared to Marky, I talk less to him.. I mean I only get to talk to him when he's online. I rarely get to talk to him in school but despite that I think we're pretty good friends in the sense that he says hi whenever we see each other and he's game whenever Marky and I come up with plans to go out with Dana and Richard and our other SA blockmates. :)

Anyway.. I think I shall end this long blog post here for the moment. I should be doing my Gen Psych project at the moment. The only reason why I felt the urge to write a new blog post was because I just read Dan's blog and I dunno.. I just wanted to blog for a while too :P Until next time then! :)

Fruitless Day.. Kind of..

Okay I just have to say that today is not a good day. Today was supposed to be ACP day, I was actually kind of excited since Tiff and will be attending a good lecture. The lecture was supposed to be about financial matters and with the state that we find our economy in, I think it's a pretty good choice. Everything was going fine at first until of course it screwed up.

Just as everything seems okay, things just have to turn for the worse. What happened? Well, Tiff and I thought that the talk was to start at 10:30 and will finish at 11:30. As luck would have it, we got it all wrong. The talk started at 9:30, not 10:30! Eeeepppp!!! So there we were at school like good girls. We never intended to cut a class but our efforts were wasted. Due to a cruel twist of fate we had a cut which we never intended to have in the first place! If only we knew what would happen, we'd rather have cut it all togther, saved ourselves the effort of going there and just stayed at home writing our papers. *sigh*

On the bright side I got to talk to my online friend. It was great talking to him since he got my mind off that epic fail of a morning. Plus I got to know him a bit better

Another plus side? I'm finally starting my Fil paper!! Yey!! Finally!! Inspiration has struck! I was able to find that start which I wanted. Yey!! Bonus points here I come!!

That's about it. I'm sorry if I haven't been updating for some time. It was hell week at school, LTs, papers and other stuff just took up most of my time, energy and not to mention brain cells.. hahaha :)) Until next time then! :)

A Day with Kids

Today, 24th of January was my block's exposure trip. We were assigned to Arayat, Cubao. At first, I was a bit scared because I guess our Intact Homeroom Adviser told us that some of these kids worked in clubs and all that. She also warned us that should they make any untoward moves towards us we should tell the facilitators immediately. Yikes right?

I have to say that after this day, she was wrong. They were actually really good kids. They were funny and very open. It was especially funny when they started gossiping with us. They were telling us who their crushes were! I have to admit that there were some who seemed distant. They didn't join much but that's understandable especially after what they told us about these kids. Although there were some kids who were awfully rowdy. They climbed onto the backs of the guys but the guys in my block were cool with it.

I guess the only sad thing here is the behavior of the facilitators themselves. I didn't see these myself but a lot of my other blockmates did. They saw the facilitators scolding the male kids not to cry because they aren't males if they do. I mean what kind of treatment is that?? You shouldn't prevent someone from crying. It's better to let the person express what he/she feels rather than keep in inside him/her. Then there was another instance where the facilitators pinched the kids who were trying to ride on the back of the guys. I know that they are behaving badly but that doesn't give these people the right to pinch these kids. They could've told them to behave in a better way.

I guess aside from the disappointing behavior these facilitators did, I have to say that I enjoyed this exposure trip! :)

That's all! This is where I sign out, until next time!

Shower Under The Rain

This post should have been yesterday's post but I got home late and I just wasn't in the mood to write anything. So anyway.. I attended the rehearsals which my English/Lit blockmates had which began sometime around 3:30 pm and ended a few minutes before 6pm. I have to say that I'm really pleased with them. They sang so beautifully!! I love their voices especially Lizzie's voice!

Now, the reason for the title I gave this blog. Well.. it seems that all the singing either disturb someone or made someone cry because my gosh! It rained cats and dogs!! It felt as if there was a typhoon which of course there wasn't. I got really soaked! As in my shoes squeaked with all the water in it, my hair was wet, socks were damp, even my watch got soaked and this all happened despite my having an umbrella >.< I have to say that the blame lies on one of my blockmates' shoulder since he just had to get stranded without an umbrella. So being the stage manager I had to get him so that he can participate for the rehearsals. Despite the heavy rain, I trudged my way over to the building where he was only to wait for him for around 10 minutes just so that he can finish talking with people. After that I carried the umbrella for him! The nerve! So what I did was to make a joke out of it, luckily, he got the point and carried the umbrella. I have to say though that I'd rather I carry the umbrella because when he carried it, I was the one who got soaked! T.T The only good thing besides the great rehearsal we had was that I was finally able to eat at Cajun!! The Chicken Alfred was super delicious!! I'm actually looking forward to the next time when I can eat there! Hahaha :)) And so that basically wraps up my day :)

Horrible Day

As the title suggests I kind of had a horrible day. The reason? Two words. Zoology Laboratory. It was a disaster!! My gosh.. I mean I never expected to get a perfect score but what I got? O.o

I didn't fail, no, if I did fail I'd probably give this blog a title like "End of the World" or something quite dramatic. I passed the LT but the grade was really low. I'm sorry but I'm quite the high achiever, I just can't tolerate low grades, they make me want to scream out loud. I guess I just don't have that much energy since I still have an English paper outline to do and study for a Filipino quiz. Not to mention today was really hot and humid! Okay, I'll stop my ranting now and focus on my outline and other assignments before I get a low grade for those too. If that happens I don't know what I'll do, probably cry.. hahaha :))

Anyhow, I just found out that the muscles in my left arm are sore. I asked Soup (Dana) to massage it for me and gosh! I wanted to scream my lungs out. It was really painful! >.<>
Thief of the Night

Stealthily I creep,
Taking the light with me,
Darkness I exchanged for it.
A diamond I stole,
Replaced it with jewels,
Soon I was caught,
Away I then go
With the jewels I brought.
Until we meet again,
I say fare thee well.

Introduction

5:25 AM Posted In , , Edit This 0 Comments »
Hello everyone! This is my first time to blog. Well.. technically it isn't since I did try to write blogs before but for some reason I never could get myself to write more than a couple of entries. Maybe it's laziness, maybe it's just that I'm not cut out to be a blogger. I hope I can manage to post here every now and then. My life isn't all that exciting as the lives of other bloggers so if I think my day isn't worth mentioning about, I'll just make a poem instead.

Before you rejoice or dread or feel anything, I'd like to confess that I'm not a really good poet. I only started writing poems back in the summer of 2007. You might think that I should be a pretty good poet by now since that was almost 2 years ago but sadly I stopped writing poems for some time. I guess I was either too busy or too stressed out that I couldn't find my zone again. You guys can rate and comment on my poems. Be as honest as you can, I'll appreciate it a lot more :)

That's all for now! I still have to study for a Zoology exam tomorrow! See you! :)

xoxo, Charm :)
